Self-Care Ideas

You’re all probably familiar with the idea of self-care and how important it is to take care of yourself. I honestly didn’t really get into it until a couple of years ago, and I’m still finding ways of self-care that I really enjoy that work for me. When I first heard about self-care, I thought it was kind of a hippie-dippie idea–but it isn’t AT ALL. I’ve compiled a list of some self-care ideas (there are so many out there!) with their estimated budget/price range, but I hope you consider finding some self-care ideas that work for you that allow you to properly take care of your wonderful self on your happy and healthy adventure. ❤ 🙂

Free (or minimal cost)

  • Take a nap
  • Read
  • Watch your favorite TV show or movie
  • Exercise (whatever type you like best or are capable of)
  • Shower
  • Journal
  • Meditation with Youtube videos or Spotify music (also… see my post on the Headspace app! There’s a free version that has a lot of good stuff)
  • Listen to feel good music (whatever that means to you)
  • Get outside! Especially if it’s a nice day
  • Talk to a friend (in person is best, but call/text/FaceTime work too)

$20 or less

  • Treat yourself to your favorite drink and/or snack (latte, cookie, etc.)
  • Bath bomb (good deals at Lush, usually less than $10 anywhere though)
  • Meditation with the Headspace app (I believe it’s $12.99/month but don’t quote me on that—this option gives you access to every single meditation available on the app!)
  • Go to the movies
  • Rent your favorite movie (if it’s not available for free)
  • Give yourself a spa day at home (if you’re good at painting your nails yourself, RESPECT).

$50 or less

  • Get a professional mani-pedi (special at my local nail salon was $29.99, but is generally closer to $50 on average)
  • Take yourself out to your favorite dinner (local restaurant, take out, etc.)
  • Buy yourself some new make up (If you have a NYX near you, they have one-on-one lessons that are 30 minutes and a minimum of $30 of product and Make Up 101 that’s 50 minutes and $50 of product)
  • Buy yourself some new clothes (If you like clothes for a good deal, I recommend Marshall’s, TJMaxx, and Old Navy)
  • Take a cooking class
