Hello fellow bloggers-it’s been awhile since I’ve written a post! Getting ready for my big New York move and then actually DOING the big New York move was a lot of work- but I’ve loved every minute of living here! And while I’m not into excuses, the move and prepping for it let little (no) time for blogging. But I’m here now to tell you what I’m loving about the Big Apple so far!
My sister and I are living in an apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood, an easy subway station to Times Square, my school, and pretty much everywhere. It’s a nice mix between busy night life of downtown and the quiet(er) Upper West Side. There’s tons of great restaurants, stores, and the Highline to walk along. We’re lucky to live in this neighborhood and enjoy everything about it so far-including our apartment!
There are SO MANY great restaurants less than five miles away from our apartment. We went to a bunch when my parents were helping me move here, and my sister and I have discovered a couple more good ones while we’ve been here. There’s also Chelsea Market, and all kinds of Food Network/Cooking Channel events that I (hopefully) will be able to attend.
There’s always people walking around, no matter what time of day or night it is. Which I love, because I’m a people person (if you didn’t know that already). I enjoy all of the diversity and you know what else is great? When I open the door at a store, restaurant, etc.-people say thank you. It’s awesome, and everyone is so friendly here. Or at least, that’s been my experience thus far.
Stuff To Do
Just in my neighborhood, there’s Chelsea Market and The Highline, but around the city and not too far away, there is TONS to do here! There’s museums, libraries, The Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty (which I visited two weeks ago and it’s beautiful), Times Square, Broadway shows (I’ve seen 2 already!), shopping, eating, and more. I’ll never not have something to do-although I’ll be focusing a lot on school when it starts in September.
There’s nothing NOT to like about NYC! Okay, maybe the noise is a bit much, but I’ve gotten used to it and the pros outweigh this one con so much. I’ll hopefully be posting more often since I’ve gotten comfortable and more set up, so keep an eye out for more posts!
I’m on my newest adventure here in NYC and couldn’t be happier-I hope you all have a happy and healthy adventure, whatever it may be. 🙂 ❤
