Merry Christmas! (Recap)

I hope everyone celebrated a Merry Christmas this past weekend and enjoyed all of their festivities! I wanted to share about my Christmas, especially what I took away from Mass, the great food, and some of the gifts I received! I hope your Christmas was a highlight of your happy and healthy adventure; and I wish everyone an (upcoming) Happy New Year! 🙂 ❤

Thoughts on Mass

This Christmas, we decided to attend the 9pm mass on Christmas Eve. The gospel reading assigned to today was interesting in that it was one I had never heard before and it wasn’t your typical Christmas reading. This reading went through the genealogy (family tree) of Jesus. The homilist asked us what we noticed in the reading. I didn’t raise my hand to respond, but I did notice and reflect on a few things.

This family tree that was listed off was mostly men, very few women. Some are well known, others not. One original thought I had that wasn’t brought up in the discussion was that some are saints and some are sinners. Besides “labeling” the people in the story, I had a bigger take away. Whether your closest with your blood family, your “family” of friends, your co-worker “family,” etc., it doesn’t matter. Every person on Earth has a family; it is important to celebrate the holiday season with them and cherish their presence in your life. I hope everyone got to celebrate with family (however you define that in your life) and got to cherish the time you spent with them.

The Food

For anyone who knows me, you know that I love food and I love to take pictures of food (it’s also pretty evident through my Instagram and blog). On Christmas Day, we had lobster mac n cheese (YUM), ham, and more. Hopefully everyone enjoyed some delicious food over the weekend!

The Gifts

So many gifts! My family goes all out when it comes to gift giving. Here’s a list of a few of the gifts that I’m currently using!

Fitbit Charge 2

This Fitbit is a huge improvement over my old Fitbit Flex! The Fitbit Charge 2 has a wristband like a watch and has many more features than the Fitbit Flex.

Philips USB Light Up Christmas Tree

Being on my computer is so much more fun with this USB light up Christmas tree. Even when the holiday season comes to an end, I’ll probably still be using this.

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

My mom knows that I love to read, and she decided to get me this classic book. I haven’t read it yet, but I’m excited to! I’ll probably do a post all about it, since I read the intro on the front flap and it seems like there could be a lot of great takeaways in it.

I received many more gifts, especially clothes! I hope you received and gave some wonderful gifts this Christmas. Happy Holidays! 🙂 ❤
